First Thoughts

As you cannot walk without direction
You cannot write without intention
You cannot act without decision
So all living is initially mysterious
The fullest life is one lived in constant curiosity
With a sense of wonder and expectation
In and for the strangeness that appears
Day to day to an open mind
What is expected may happen but not always
What is expected may happen but not completely
What is expected may not happen at all
For life is always bigger than our understanding
And greater than our expectations
And wonder lies about frequently unseen
For we often just look in the common places
Scanning but the surfaces of life that lie before us
Often looking too fast to see the wonder beneath
We are surrounded by amazing things hidden in plain sight
Calling to us to stop and see and there it is
For life is more beautiful than what we generally see
And more amazing than what we generally know
There in that realm just beyond our ken
Lies the mystery that covers life with meaning
